Why founders use it
A first meeting goes on gaps you could have fixed in a month. Investors often pass without saying why, and you rarely get a second first impression.
The bar changes with every round. What got you a pre-seed is not what Seed investors ask for, and nobody hands you the list.
Preparing a round competes with running the company. You need to know which few things to fix first, and which can wait.
What you walk away with
Everything is set against the round you are raising next, so the advice changes as you grow.
A score from 1 to 5 on each of eight dimensions against what investors expect for the round you are raising next. The gaps that matter most for that round are marked critical and put first.
Actions fitted to your target close date, each with the result that shows it worked, so you know when a gap is really closed. Edit, add or move anything.
The questions investors at your round tend to ask, a data room checklist and a draft one-pager, plus a PDF report to take to your advisor or board.
Investors, accelerators and grants whose published criteria fit your round and kind of startup. Gulf funding comes live from GulfPitch; other regions from our directory of funders checked on their own websites. FundPath does not contact anyone for you.
What is already in place, from your answers and optionally your pitch deck, so the progress since your last round is easy to show.
Impact is scored like any other dimension, with its own milestones, so your impact story grows with the business.
How it works
FundPath guides you one question at a time. You see your results before anyone asks for your email.
01
Pick the last round you closed and answer eight one-tap questions about customers, product, team, funding and impact.
02
Optional. FundPath picks out lines that show what you have already achieved, for you to check.
03
Where you stand on each dimension against your next round, with the critical gaps first.
04
Start with the top priorities, update a score when the result is there, and come back whenever you make progress.
What we measure
Each is scored from 1 (not started) to 5 (what investors typically expect for the round you are raising next). Regulatory progress counts only when your market needs approvals. Your plan is ordered by what investors at your round usually weigh most, adjusted for software, climate and deep tech.
01
Customer validation
Proof that customers have the problem and pay to solve it.
02
Product & technology
How far the solution is built and proven in real use.
03
Business model & traction
How you make money, and evidence that it works.
04
IP & defensibility
What stops others from copying you.
05
Team
Whether the team can deliver what this round funds.
06
Fundraising readiness
Financial plan, materials and investor pipeline.
07
Impact
A clear impact thesis, metrics and evidence of change.
08
Regulatory progress
Approvals or certifications your market requires, when it applies.
Built around funding rounds
Close a round and FundPath moves you to the next one, keeping everything you have achieved.
Investors look for a strong team, a sharp problem and early signs that customers care.
Investors look for a product in use, first paying customers and a believable path to a repeatable business.
Investors look for repeatable revenue growth, healthy unit economics and a team ready to scale.
What FundPath is not. It is a self-assessment to plan with and discuss with your advisor. It is not investment advice and does not predict whether you will raise: investors differ by sector, geography and fund.
Who it's for
FundPath is for founders getting ready to raise pre-seed, Seed or Series A who want to know what to fix first and walk into investor meetings prepared.
Incubators, accelerators, advisors and mentors can point their founders to it. The plan and PDF report give your sessions a clear agenda.
Who is behind it
FundPath is developed by Just for Impact, an independent advisory firm working on investment readiness, commercialization and growth. The framework builds on years of hands-on experience in venture investing, climate tech and deep tech, and on the involvement of investment and innovation experts and of startups themselves.
About Just for ImpactQuestions
FundPath is free to use while we open it to the first startups.
Five to ten minutes for the first assessment: five short steps and eight one-tap questions. After that you come back whenever you make progress.
No. You see your results and plan without signing up. If you want to keep them and come back later, you can save them with just your email: no password.
Every dimension runs from 1 to 5, where 5 means investor-ready for the round you are raising next. Your answers set the starting score, and each dimension gets a list of actions. As you tick actions off, the score moves toward 5, and it reaches 5 when all of them are done. Adding or removing actions recalculates it. If you and your advisor see it differently, you can set the score yourself. A score is a self-assessment to guide your plan, not a prediction of whether you will raise.
No. A deck helps FundPath spot what you have already achieved, but it does not change your scores, and the questions alone are enough to build your plan.
It suggests funders whose published criteria fit your round and kind of startup, with stars for how well they fit. It does not introduce you, contact anyone or know whether a funder is active right now, so check each one before you reach out. Stars show fit, not your chance of being funded.
Your answers, plan and achievements are stored in our database, run on Lovable Cloud, so you and the FundPath team can come back to them. They are not shared with third parties. Other FundPath users cannot see them.
No. FundPath shows how prepared you are against what investors at your next round typically expect. Whether you raise also depends on your market, the funding climate, your network and each investor's own focus.
No. FundPath is a planning tool. Its scores and suggestions are guidelines based on what investors commonly look for, to discuss with your team, advisors or mentors.
Yes. With an account, you can delete a saved startup from the account panel in FundPath at any time. To have everything we hold about your startup removed, contact us and we will delete it.
No. FundPath prepares you for your next funding round in general, whoever you plan to raise from.
Yes, by pointing your founders to it. Each founder runs their own assessment and can bring the plan or PDF report to your sessions, which makes them more focused. FundPath has no cohort or portfolio features.
